Hillary’s KLAN Cover-Up
Lying about Trump while hiding the fact
Democrats accepted Klan support.
She looked the American people straight in the television eye and lied.
I know, I know, she does it all the time. But this time the lie was as bold as it was false.
Appearing in Greenville, North Carolina the other day, Hillary Clinton played the Democratic Party standard — the race card. Said she:
“Just a few days ago, and I want you to hear this because this has never happened to a major, to a nominee of a major party. Just a few days ago Donald Trump was endorsed by the official newspaper of the Ku Klux Klan.”
Catch that line:…“I want you to hear this because this has never happened to a major, to a nominee of a major party.”
Short of saying the sun rises in the West, a political lie doesn’t come much bolder than that.
First of all, the Trump campaign instantly rejected the endorsement in the strongest of terms. Said the Trump campaign statement: “Mr. Trump and the campaign denounces hate in any form. This publication is repulsive and their views do not represent the tens of millions of Americans who are uniting behind our campaign.”
Ahhh. The kind of words spoken about the Klan that America has yet to hear from Democrats apologizing for their tighter-than-ticks relationship with the Klan.
Examples? There are plenty.
Here, for example, are the opening words of the 1924 Democratic Convention, bold print supplied:
“We, the representatives of the democratic party, in national convention assembled, pay our profound homage to the memory of Woodrow Wilson. Our hearts are filled with gratitude that American democracy should have produced this man, whose spirit and influence will live on through the ages; and that it was our privilege to have co-operated with him in the advancement of ideals of government which will serve as an example and inspiration for this and future generations. We affirm our abiding faith in those ideals and pledge ourselves to take up the standard which he bore and to strive for the full triumph of the principles of democracy to which he dedicated his life.”
And who wrote those words? The Ku Klux Klan. Yes, that’s right, the Ku Klux Klan — founded as Columbia University historian Eric Foner has written as “a military force serving the interests of the Democratic Party.” University of North Carolina historian Allen Trelease’s description of the Klan is as the “terrorist arm of the Democratic Party.”
In 1924 the Klan control of the Democratic Convention in Madison Square Garden — including the platform writing process — was so complete the convention is known to history as “the Klan bake.” And the Klan was so thoroughly enamored of Wilson not just because the two-time nominee and two-term progressive president was a thorough-going racist and segregationist. No, Wilson was popular with the Klan because the President had celebrated the film tribute to the Klan — Birth of a Nation — with a much publicized White House screening.
Apparently the American educational system has so, shall we say, “whitwashed” history that this comes as a shock to some. Over there at Raw Story the left wing site headlines, aghast:
CNN panel goes off the rails when Jeffrey Lord claims the KKK was the military arm of the Democratic party
The article, written by an incredulous Erin Corbett, says that I “claimed the KKK was originally ‘formed as the military arm of the Democratic Party.'” Newsflash all you Klan-deniers over there at Raw Story — this would be known as historical fact. Perhaps it’s also news to your staff that George Washington was the first president or that America landed astronauts on the moon. Here’s a shocker you may not know: water is wet.
The entire purpose of the Klan, as historians Foner and Trelease recount, was to support the Democratic Party and its nominees. Founded in the post-Civil War 1860s, the Klan would go on to support one Democratic presidential nominee after another after another after another. Not to mention repeatedly elect Klan members to local state and federal office. Never once — say again never once — did any on that list of nominees issue a rejection of the Klan of any kind, much less of the kind issued this week by Donald Trump’s campaign. There was a reason. Klan members in elected office were key supporters of the progressive agenda of the day. Indeed, Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black — an Alabama liberal Democrat Senator and possessor of a “Gold Passport” life membership Klansman — was put on the Court by Franklin Roosevelt. In 1968, Justice Hugo Black would say that after nominating him to the Court, FDR told him “there was no reason worrying about my having been a member of the Ku Klux Klan. He said that some of his best friends and supporters he had in the state of Georgia were strong members of the organization” and that FDR “did not indicate any criticism of me for having been a member of that organization.”
Hugo Black, of course, would write the infamous Korematsu v. United States decision which upheld FDR’s Executive Order 9066 that ordered Japanese-Americans into internment camps in WWII. A Klansman on the Supreme Court sending Americans to internment camps based on their race. What else would you expect? It took a Lincoln-minded president — that would be Ronald Reagan — to right the incredible racist wrong perpetuated by the Klansman placed on the Court by a fellow Democrat who proudly proclaimed that some of his best friends were Klansmen.
Which is to say, again, that Hillary Clinton stood there in front of the cameras in North Carolina and boldly lied.
Answer: The Democratic Party swims in a culture of racism. Everything and everybody is judged by skin color, and the nominees of the party for the most part did and do act accordingly. The Klan is, infamously, both racist and anti-Semitic. So is Al Sharpton — and there is Hillary Clinton bending a pants-suited knee to the black David Duke as seen here in this Politicoheadline:
Hillary Clinton to meet with Al Sharpton
The more things change the more they stay the same. There was Hillary Clinton, the newest Democratic nominee, boldly playing the race card of her party’s culture of racism against Donald Trump — even as she lied and tried to hide the absolutely despicable history of the party she leads. And Raw Story fell for it hook line and sinker.
