OpEd: Caligula was a PROGRESSIVE Liberal

theodore  M I R A L D I.

Imagine that, the generation that was openly having sex in Discotheques, snorting huge amounts of  Cocaine and having Sex, in of all places, bathrooms around the world. Dosing each other with Quaaludes and Ecstasy and a host of other inhibition suppressors. Swinging and Wife Swapping became the thing to do. The loss of respect for someone loved, tore down personal interactions between the sexes. The Left and its Free for All narratives are still hard at work trying to devolve human behaviors to Pre-Civilization standards.

The devolution of Trust weakened our Common Bond. So after all, Free Sex has had an enormous price on society. There was no such thing as Free Love!

The 'Who or, What am I Today' narratives are more than just irrational, they defy Natural Science and
Psychological Health.

The enhancement of the body by surgical means has become a Billion Dollar Industry catering now to both men and women. Narcissism is now an artform and its practitioners beliefs are centered  only on themselves and have little need for self examination.

What's next? Painting human genitalia on the walls in our streets for our kids to see? Sounds more like Rome than Main-Street U.S.A. Wake Up America we are going the way of the DoDo!

Listen to your Inner Self, you know what I'm saying is True.

My generation pulled all the stops, broke every Taboo and forced this Debauchery they call Progressive Liberalism on Generations to come. The MeMe's of the 60's are still leading a band of Perversion into our children's classrooms. Their Cult like followers dancing in a circle chanting 'Death' to God and Country!

Something has gone terribly wrong and the Flesh Worshiping drones are Hailing a new Leader, and his name is Bureaucratica! Bureaucrats are feverishly working within the Inner Sanctum of Government extolling the pleasures of compliance to their will.

Anyone with an ounce of honesty can plainly see there is too much Violence, too much Sex, too many Drugs and no Consequences. This is a defining moment in human history, and its conclusion is always the same.

The Fall of Rome/USA!

Rome like modern day USA  was filled with sexual perversions from Incest to Homosexuality frowned upon for most in the Common Era.  Illegitimate children were put to death.  It take little time to review what is now common behavior and actively promoted in the Highest Offices of Power and in Mass Media.

Sex sold Then, and Sex sells Now!

History has given us a guide to enlightenment and the steps that need to be taken in overcoming our impure sexual appetite and worship of Hyper-Sexualized pleasures.

The Progressive Left allows the human spirit to become polluted with vice. In this way, they manipulate power over their followers who replace logic for emotive wants.

Not even under the threat of  death by Aids, Super Gonorrhea and rampant STD's has the march toward destruction been slowed. More young people are having unprotected sex, because it's what's promoted in everything that they see and hear.

The Progressive Liberal Policies are Destroying our Nation.

John Brennan’s President… Remembering Comrade Gus Hall

Obama’s CIA director would sooner vacation in North Korea than at Mar-a-Lago.

Gus Hall

Paul Kengor

Obama CIA director John Brennan, a subject of ongoing analysis at The American Spectator, recently uncorked an epic Twitter rant. Enraged by President Trump’s words aimed at FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, Brennan steamed at the president: “When the full extent of your venality, moral turpitude, and political corruption becomes known, you will take your rightful place as a disgraced demagogue in the dustbin of history. You may scapegoat ndy McCabe, but you will not destroy America … America will triumph over you.”
More than one faithful reader of this fine publication emailed me about the irony of such words coming from a man who wanted Gus Hall to be president of the United States.
For those too young to remember, Gus Hall was the longtime hack and head of Communist Party USA, beginning in 1959 until his death in 2000. Not even Joe Stalin as a Party general secretary came close to matching Gus Hall’s interminable tenure. Hall was unwaveringly dedicated to a global communist revolution and a truly Evil Empire that was ultimately and blessedly consigned to “the dustbin of history.” Brennan’s loaded words echoed a phrase that Bolshevism made infamous: From the delightful Leon Trotsky to the charming Yuri Andropov, the exhortation evidently remains etched in Brennan’s comradely memory. “Go the place where you belong from now on,” Trotsky thundered at the Mensheviks in 1917, “the dustbin of history!”
Our former CIA director channeled Trotsky in the service of blasting Trump.
Of course, that’s precisely why the good reader emailed me. The reader graciously remembered my piece for The American Spectator in September 2016 in which I noted that the same Mr. John Brennan had supported Mr. Gus Hall for POTUS back in the Brezhnev era. Brennan literally cast a vote for the Kremlin’s man in Washington. Needless to say, the Kremlin in those days was a rather bad place that housed some nasty guys. Leonid Brezhnev’s KGB chief was Yuri Andropov. About the time that Brennan was registering a ballot for Moscow’s man in America to become America’s next president, Brezhnev and Andropov were giving the green light to one of the most shocking crimes of the deadly 20th century: the assassination of Pope John Paul II. Andropov gave the go-ahead to the Soviet GRU to hire Muslim-Turk Mehmet Ali Agca to murder the head of the world’s largest Christian church and inheritor of the Chair of St. Peter.
That ought to have raised a red flag to John Brennan, who, among other things, had been raised an Irish Catholic. His lurch to the far left occurred during his college years at the Jesuit-run Fordham University in New York. (Today, it’s unclear where Brennan stands faith-wise, with not a single mention at his official CIA page and other biographical sources and amid unproven claims that he converted to Islam. The Arabic-speaking ex-CIA director, who studied abroad in Cairo, has made very positive statements about Islam and the “privilege” of making pilgrimage to Mecca and paying homage to “the majesty of the Hajj.”)
In fact, if one studies Brennan’s admission that he voted for Gus Hall, it looks like he also suggested that he might have been a member of the Communist Party in 1980. Yes, a formal member.
Once upon a time in pre-Obama America, the possibility of CPUSA membership would have been a disqualifying factor to run the CIA. But not to the president that Americans elected in 2008 and reelected in 2012. To the contrary, Obama would have been highly sympathetic. It was likewise in 1980, at Occidental College, according to classmate John Drew, that the young Obama was an ideological Marxist, albeit not a formal CPUSA member. Only the most hardcore joined The Party — including Obama mentor, Frank Marshall Davis, whose underground code name for The Party was “The Church.”
But alas, that’s just the start of the irony in John Brennan’s Tweet about the corruption of Donald Trump. Observe that Brennan also blasted Trump for demagoguery, venality, and moral turpitude. Well, that took some gall for a Gus guy. Gus Hall was all those things, and worse.
I couldn’t begin to here lay out the full spectrum and spectacle (and disgrace, to borrow another Brennan description) that was Gus Hall, but here’s one particularly relevant item of interest: ol’ Gus was so corrupt that even the Russkies couldn’t trust him.
An eyewitness to that reality was Morris Childs, a remarkable individual whose story was told by the late John Barron in his fascinating book Operation Solo: The FBI’s Man in the Kremlin. Childs was Gus’s number-two at CPUSA. And all along, Childs was secretly working for the FBI.
The courageous Childs marvelously hoodwinked Hall and his Moscow cronies. The Sovs loved Childs like a brother, bestowing on him their celebrated Soviet Order of the Red Banner — a hilarious accomplishment for an undercover FBI agent.
What Childs learned from the Soviets was significant. But as to the point of Gus Hall’s corruption, consider this:
The Soviet Union was secretly bankrolling CPUSA, including annual subsidies to the Daily Worker. It was illegal for CPUSA and Gus Hall to receive this money. Our government knew this was happening, but it kept the information quiet to protect Childs so he could continue providing crucial inside intelligence.
Morris Childs and his brother Jack (also working for our side) were conduits for the funding. The Kremlin gave CPUSA tens of millions of dollars. The total rose to $2,775,000 by 1980. The FBI knew the precise amount because it counted every dime at a half-way house prior to when Morris deposited it in a safe for Gus Hall.
To repeat: Hall and CPUSA were doing all of this illegally. They were a directly subsidized arm of America’s chief adversary, of a barbaric regime.
But that’s not the end of it — of, that is, Gus Hall’s corruption. As for the safe in which Moscow’s money was placed for CPUSA, Gus always pocketed a portion for his personal stash. Childs knew this, the FBI knew it. He wasn’t trustworthy. Then again, why would anyone trust a communist general secretary? Come to think of it, why would anyone vote for a communist general secretary to be their president of the United States?
That brings us back to John Brennan.
One might lend more credibility to Brennan’s crowing about Donald Trump if he had better judgment about presidents of the United States. And this article doesn’t begin to detail Gus Hall’s venality, moral turpitude, and political corruption. Where to start and finish with those? Here are merely a few Gus gems:
On vacationing in North Korea: “The world should see what North Korea has done. In some ways it’s a miracle. If you want to take a nice vacation, take it in North Korea.”
On the Party’s position on the Hitler-Stalin of 1939, Stalin’s purge trials, and the 1956 invasion of Hungary: “I never believed that we should dwell too much on the past. I have been much more interested in the future.”
On socialism’s inevitability in America: “There’s no question that the United States will become a socialist country. It’s as inevitable as the sun rising tomorrow.”
On the Party remaining committed to revolution: “We want to overthrow the capitalist system. But the means that we have chosen are ones of mass education and propaganda. We have our newspaper and we appear on talk shows and we will take part in elections.”
Well, John Brennan took part in those elections. He cast a vote for the cause.
I could go and on. Gus went on and on. Talk about a disgraced demagogue, Mr. Brennan? Geesh. Here was one in spades.
Fortunately for America, Ronald Reagan and friends also had a vote in 1980. They triumphed over Gus Hall and his advocates like John Brennan, mercifully consigning the Marxist-Leninist trash-heap to the dustbin of history.

'Satan 2' NUCLEAR Missile Again Test-Launched by Russia

Putin brags of 'invulnerable' arsenal

Greg Norman

A new intercontinental ballistic missile hailed by Russian President Vladimir Putin as being able to fly over the North or South Poles and strike any target in the world reportedly was test-launched for the second time Friday.

Russia’s defense ministry released a video purportedly showing the Sarmat ICBM blasting off in spectacular fashion from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome in its northern Arkhangelsk province, the move coming just hours after the Kremlin announced it would expel 60 American diplomats and close the U.S. consulate in St. Petersburg in retaliation for U.S. measures taken in response to the poisoning of an ex-Russian spy and his daughter in Britain.

The video shows the missile – dubbed “Satan 2” by NATO -- rising out of the ground and seemingly floating in the air for a brief moment before more flames erupt, kicking up massive clouds of smoke and snow.

"No defense systems will be able to withstand it," Putin said about the missile during his state-of-the-nation speech in early March.

The test-launch also comes after Putin’s recent re-election and a congratulatory phone call from President Trump -- in which Trump reportedly also warned his Russian counterpart, "if you want to have an arms race we can do that, but I'll win," according to two officials that spoke to NBC News. Days before the launch, the U.S. Navy test-fired its own ICMB from a ballistic missile submarine off the coast of Southern California.

Russia has been working for years to develop a new ICBM to replace the Soviet-designed Voyevoda, the world's heaviest ICBM and known as "Satan" in the West. That ICBM carries 10 nuclear warheads, the Associated Press reported. Putin announced during his March speech the Sarmat missile was undergoing tests and debuted a video purportedly showing its first test launch, which he said happened in December.

Putin said Sarmat weighs 220 tons and has a higher range than "Satan," allowing it to fly over both poles of the Earth. He also said it accelerates faster than its predecessor, making it harder for an enemy to intercept it in its most vulnerable phase after the launch. Putin added Sarmat also carries more -- and more powerful -- nuclear warheads than
the "Satan" ICBM.

Russian state-run news agency TASS has reported the Sarmat missile will go into mass production in 2020 and is expected to become operational the year after, according to EuroNews.

"No one has listened to us. You listen to us now,” Putin boasted during the March speech, when he revealed other weapons his country apparently has in the works, such as an underwater drone armed with a nuclear warhead powerful enough to sweep away coastal facilities and aircraft carriers, and a nuclear-powered cruise missile that's "invulnerable to any existing or prospective air and missile defense systems.”

The White House responded to Putin’s March 1 speech by saying he merely confirmed what the U.S. already knows: that Russia has been developing "destabilizing weapons systems for over a decade in direct violations of its treaty obligations."

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said President Trump understands the threats and that America is "moving forward to modernize our nuclear arsenal and ensure our capabilities are unmatched."

Russia unveils 'invincible' nuclear missile

Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White also said the Defense Department wasn't surprised by Putin's bluster, adding the U.S. military is prepared to defend the nation.

"You will have to assess that new reality and become convinced that what I said today isn't a bluff," Putin had said. "It's not a bluff, trust me."

He said the creation of the new weapons has made NATO's U.S.-led missile defense "useless," putting an end to what he described as years of Western efforts to sidetrack and weaken Russia.

"I want to tell all those who have fueled the arms race over the last 15 years, sought to win unilateral advantages over Russia, introduced unlawful restrictions and sanctions aimed to contain our country's development: All what you wanted to impede with your policies has now happened," he said. "You have failed to contain Russia."

State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said it was "unfortunate" to watch animation depicting "a nuclear attack on the United States" that accompanied Putin's speech, calling the video "cheesy" and adding "we don't think it's responsible."

Another new weapon Putin unveiled during the state-of-the-nation speech, called Avangard, is an intercontinental hypersonic missile that would fly at 20 times the speed of sound and strike its targets "like a meteorite, like a fireball.”

6 Gazans Said KILLED, 500 WOUNDED Amid Massive Border Protests

Army uses live fire, rubber bullets to keep back mobs of Palestinians who throw rocks, firebombs at Israeli troops during 'March of Return' demonstration

Six Palestinians were killed and some 500 were wounded by Israeli rubber bullets and live fire in the Gaza Strip on Friday, as a series of massive protests intensified along the security fence surrounding the Hamas-controlled enclave, Palestinian sources said. Five were reported killed in escalating violence, hours after a Gaza man was killed at the border in disputed circumstances.
The Israel Defense Forces estimated that 17,000 Palestinians were taking part in “March of Return” demonstrations along the Gaza border, focused at five main protest sites where rioters threw petrol bombs and stones at troops, and burned tires.
The IDF did not confirm the Hamas death toll figures. In a statement reported by Israeli Kan TV, the army said organizers of the protests were deliberately trying to place civilians in harm’s way, and cited an incident in which it said a seven-year-old girl was sent to the security fence in an apparent cynical attempt to draw Israeli fire, but was spotted by troops who realized what was happening and ensured she was not hurt.
The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry reported that five men were killed during the mass protests along the border. Some 500 Gazans were injured as of 3:00 p.m., with most of the injuries being caused by rubber bullets and tear gas. A smaller number were hit by live fire.
The army confirmed that soldiers had shot at “main instigators.” It said some protesters were lighting tires on fire and throwing Molotov cocktails and rocks at IDF troops on the other side of the border. The military maintained that it would not allow Palestinian protesters to “violate Israel’s sovereignty” by crossing the security fence.

The main sites for protests in Gaza were Rafah and Khan Younis in the south, el-Bureij and Gaza City in the center, and Jabalya in the northern portion of the coastal enclave.
Early Friday morning, a Palestinian farmer was killed by Israeli tank fire near Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, the Hamas-run health ministry said. Witnesses said he was working his land near the border when the shells hit, but Hadashot news reported that the army suspected the man had been trying to place an improvised explosive device near the security fence.
Via social media, leaflets dropped from airplanes and statements to news outlets, Israeli officials had repeatedly warned Palestinians not to try to breach the security fence during the protests.
Early Friday, the army stationed additional infantry battalions and more than 100 snipers along the border in order to prevent that from happening. The Border Police and Israel Police also sent additional forces to southern Israel in order to act as a secondary defense line in case Palestinians made it past the soldiers along the border.
The IDF declared the area around the Israeli side of the Gaza border a “closed military zone,” forbidding Israeli civilians from getting close without army permission.

IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot was leading the army’s riot control operation, with assistance from the head of the Southern Command Maj. Gen. Eyal Zamir, the head of IDF Operations Maj. Gen. Nitzan Alon, and Israel’s military liaison to the Palestinians, Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai.
The army said it held the Hamas terror group responsible for any violence along the Gaza security fence during the protests and for the “consequences” of it.
Over the past few days, Palestinians in Gaza pitched tents near the volatile border with Israel ahead of the planned six-week “March of Return” protest that began on Friday.

The protest came amid rising tensions as the United States prepares to move its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
Organizers said the protests would be peaceful but Israeli officials were wary of a fresh flareup along the enclave’s border. Hamas, the key organizer of the campaign, is an Islamist terror group that seeks the destruction of Israel.
Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman warned on Friday that any Palestinians from Gaza approaching the security fence with Israel were putting their lives at risk.
“Those who approach the fence today are putting themselves in danger,” Liberman said in his post. “I would advise [Gazans] to go on with your lives and not engage in provocations.”
The first protest kicked off on Friday, when Palestinians worldwide mark Land Day, which commemorates the Israeli government’s expropriation of Arab-owned land in the Galilee on March 30, 1976, and ensuing demonstrations in which six Arab Israelis were killed. It is also, by coincidence, the eve of the week-long Passover festival.

Camping and protests in Gaza are expected to continue until mid-May, around the time the US is set to inaugurate its new embassy in Jerusalem.
Mid-May will also mark the anniversary of what Palestinians call the Nakba, or catastrophe, which saw hundreds of thousands of Palestinians flee their homes during Israel’s 1948 War of Independence.
According to the United Nations, some 1.3 million of Gaza’s 1.9 million residents are refugees or their descendants.

‘Return home’

Friday’s demonstrations mark the beginning of the Palestinians’ return to all of Palestine, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh declared in a speech at the scene of the mass protests in the Gaza Strip.

“We are here to declare today that our people will not agree to keep the right of return only as a slogan,” he said. Haniyeh, added that the March of Return was also aimed at sending a message to US President Donald Trump to the effect that the Palestinians will not give up their right to Jerusalem and “Palestine.”
Khaled al-Batsh, the leader of the Iran-backed Islamic Jihad terror group, which is also among the planners of the protest, said tents would be located 500 meters from the border, just outside the buffer zone between Gaza and Israel.
Water facilities were being installed and medical teams deployed to allow people to stay for long periods.
Organizers said tens of thousands of people would attend Friday’s protest, although it was not clear how the estimate was reached.
Batsh said protesters were calling for Palestinians to be allowed to return to land that is now inside Israel. “Seventy years ago we left and today we have decided to return to our country,” he told AFP.
At previous peace talks, the Palestinians have always demanded, along with sovereignty in the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem and the Old City, a “right of return” to Israel for Palestinian refugees who left or were forced out of Israel when it was established. The Palestinians demand this right not only for those of the hundreds of thousands of refugees who are still alive — a figure estimated in the low tens of thousands — but also for their descendants, who number in the millions.
No Israeli government would ever be likely to accept this demand, since it would spell the end of Israel as a Jewish-majority state. Israel’s position is that Palestinian refugees and their descendants would become citizens of a Palestinian state at the culmination of the peace process, just as Jews who fled or were forced out of Middle Eastern countries by hostile governments became citizens of Israel.

Guns and the Left’s WAR on Freedom

Targeting Handguns Illustration by Greg Groesch/The Washington Times
Targeting Handguns Illustration by Greg Groesch

Peter Morici

American democracy is under siege, and gun control is at the very center of the left’s war on all our freedoms and its agenda for an America in the mold of European socialism.
Facts — terrible massacres in strict gun control jurisdictions like Connecticut and France — have no place in fashioning the left’s gun regulatory proposals. Every horrific shooting is followed by demands for draconian restrictions on gun ownership without reasonable evidence that those measures can’t be circumvented by would be mass shooters.
The establishment GOP in Congress, just as it has on entitlements, taxes and a host of other issues, reverts to the mistake of offering compromises without strict conditions. Over and over again, it falls into the error of believing just one more concession will buy peace with the left but it can’t.
For the executive class of the professional left, a victory on one issue — for example, gay marriage — requires finding another — transgender rights. The civil rights movement must keep alive racism, sexism and white male privilege, no matter the progress of society, or its leaders would have to find honest work.
I have never owned a gun and have fired one only once — at the age of 5, my Sicilian grandmother lifted me up to pull the trigger at a Coney Island shooting gallery. I don’t feel gun ownership is necessary to secure my masculinity — something I am entitled to cultivate even if the liberals at my university enforce the notion in curriculum and public speech that it is the source of all injustice.
However, I am convinced it is impossible to make guns too difficult for would-be shooters to obtain. Even if the government made all gun ownership illegal and could confiscate the 350 million plus guns in circulation, a deranged shooter could make an AR-15 and ammunition with a 3D printer.
Similarly, it is impossible to arm and train American school teachers or harden schools to make those fully safe — unless we surrounded schools with barbwire fences, watch towers and guards armed with machine guns.
America is not Israel, where school teachers believe terrorists can be stopped by a well-trained educator holding a semi-automatic. Rather, American teachers are organized into unions that believe more entitlement spending and supporting Black Lives Matters’ anti-police agenda are vital to ending mass shootings.
Better background checks, denying guns to those pre-emptively identified as mentally unstable or on the No Fly List won’t keep guns out of their hands.
But many measures proposed would make appropriate gun ownership painfully more difficult for citizens engaged in shooting sports or having a legitimate need for self-protection in rural areas — police that are 15-30 minutes away when an armed intruder arrives are not much help.
The same folks that are for gun control — read prosperous urban Democrats and their client voters in government employment or otherwise on the dole — are for limiting CO2 emission by shifting blue-collar jobs to China, race and gender quotas in hiring, a single-payer health care system and guaranteed annual income, squashing free speech on university campuses and firing conservative professors, gutting the military, negotiating endlessly with China on matters relating to security and trade, and denying Donald Trump as a legitimate president.
Polls show alarming numbers of American youth embrace the notions that democracy and capitalism are inferior to a government selected by an oligarchy and an economy run by technocrats. Apparently our universities don’t expose students to poverty, atrocities and everyday state-terrorism imposed by such regimes in Russia and Eastern Europe during the Soviet era.
Such information is too inconvenient for contemporary white-male bashing university faculty and presidents.
Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi treating President Trump like a criminal instead of a duly-elected president, and Sen. Chuck Schumer doing whatever he can to block appointments to staff the Trump administration provides reinforcement to the notion that elections are only legitimate when liberal candidates win.
Gun advocates are right when they say gun ownership is fundamental to all their freedoms.

Gun control is a part of a broader agenda to deprive Americans of free thought and the prerogative to vote for a government not selected by a Democratic Brahmin class hell bent on remaking American civilization in their flawed vision of paradise.

Feminists Quick to Decry SEXIST Attacks — Unless Directed at Conservative Women

Christian Toto

Conservative women are decrying a double standard among many feminists, who have loudly defended liberals and Democrats against perceived misogyny but have been mute about insults and barbs slung at women of Republican or conservative stripes.
“Spewing vitriol at conservative women is sport in the elite media, Hollywood, academia and the leftist cocktail party circuit,” said Amy Cooke, executive vice president of the Independence Institute, a Denver-based free market think tank.
Michelle Balch Lyng, CEO and president of Novitas Communications, said feminism’s double standard has been most apparent with regard to Nikki Haley, South Carolina’s first female governor who now serves as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. “Sons of Anarchy” leading man Ron Perlman on Twitter, and late-night TV hosts James Corden and Stephen Colbert in a skit on the Grammy Awards show, have mocked Mrs. Haley about unproven claims of an affair with President Trump.
“Haley is a great role model for young women and, frankly, all women, unless you believe that women, in order to be valued, must subscribe to a specific viewpoint,” said Mrs. Lyng, whose firm produces political and business messages. “The left would never tolerate the same abuse of a liberal woman, nor should they, but they also should never tolerate this treatment when it’s directed at conservative women.”
Conservative women have noted how feminists went to war with anyone who attacked Hillary Clinton in any way that hinted at misogyny during the 2016 presidential campaign. They also have cited feminists’ ire over Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Massachusetts Democrat, being silenced by Republican senators last year in accordance with Senate rules.
Recent examples of feminists’ deafening silence over attacks on non-liberals abound, conservatives say:
⦁ Mr. Perlman on Twitter also has attacked first lady Melania Trump as a “pig” and White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders as “crap.”
⦁ Actors Michael Rapaport and David Alan Grier used explicit sexual comments to denigrate conservative pundit Laura Ingraham for her “shut up and dribble” remark about Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James after his criticism of Mr. Trump.
⦁ Comedy Central star Jim Jefferies last year used his late-night show to satirize the first lady in a skit that called her “wooden” and “dirty.”
⦁ This month, comic actor Jim Carrey painted and posted an unflattering portrait of Mrs. Sanders, that appeared to mock her appearance.
⦁ HBO’s “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver produced a parody of a book written by Mike Pence’s daughter, Charlotte Pence, and second lady Karen Pence, a project whose proceeds benefit charities dealing with human trafficking and cancer treatment.
And the reaction from avowed feminists?
The National Organization for Women did not respond to requests for comment.
A representative for the American Association of University Women, which strives to improve equity for women, said that as a nonpartisan organization it would be inappropriate to comment.
“I view feminism as women’s right to have their own opinion, their own achievements and their own ambitions,” Mrs. Lyng said. “Most women I know are a mixed bag on issues, so it’s offensive to me when one party claims to speak on behalf of women.”
Joy Pullmann, executive editor of the conservative news and opinion website The Federalist, said the feminist double standard is a common topic among her right-leaning peers. The change in White House occupants has made the double standard more profound, she said.
“When you have people saying you can’t talk about family when it’s the Obama family and then [we see] the attacks on Melania or the Trump kids,” Mrs. Pullmann said.
Mr. Trump’s ascendency rocked the culture in many ways, but what conservatives see as a double standard with regard to Republican women existed before the real estate mogul became commander in chief, she added.
“It’s not just the Trump phenomena, although people seem to be extra unhinged [since his presidency began],” she said.
Feminists and liberal media outlets rarely rushed to the defense of conservative women such as Condoleezza Rice and Carly Fiorina as they have with Mrs. Clinton and her Democratic peers, Mrs. Pullmann said.
Mrs. Cooke of Denver’s Independence Institute said the double standard is having an impact on how she interacts with others, particularly on gun issues.
“I had a woman walk up to me and call me a murderer. She doesn’t know me, but that is what she thinks of me and isn’t ashamed of labeling me that in front of dozens of children and young adults,” Mrs. Cooke said of a recent appearance she made at an event on ending gun violence.
“Unfortunately, in today’s political environment, those kinds of comments are getting more and more commonplace,” she added.
She said the latest attacks on Republican and conservative women can be traced to the rise of then-Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and her vice presidential candidacy in 2008.
“I had never seen a woman in politics so consistently battered and abused for being a conservative. Worse, it was open season on the Palin children because Hollywood, especially comedians, didn’t like their mom,” Mrs. Cooke said.
Mrs. Pullmann said there is one positive in a hostile political climate for her like-minded peers.

“You expect it and move on. … It helps make women on the right smarter and tougher,” she said.

A high school in Connecticut was on lockdown Wednesday after a school employee who wanted to “execute every white man” threatened to go on a killing rampage, police said.
A suspect identified as Carl Lemon, 63, an in-school suspension coordinator at Harding High School in Bridgeport, was charged with second-degree threat and breach of peace, the Connecticut Post reported. He was released on $5,000 bond.
Officers responded to the school following an alert of a possible threatening situation. Dane Brown, the school’s principal, said the man made threatening comments to a teacher.
Police claim Lemon said he hates white people and couldn’t wait “for the panthers to give the OK and a revolution begins because he will execute every white man he gets his hands on.”
The school staff member also allegedly stomped on an American flag and told students in the classroom that “This is what I think about it.”
During the police investigation, Principal Brown said she found an anonymous note in her mailbox regarding Lemon’s troubling behavior.
“Mr. Lemon talks about shooting whites a lot! He watches radical stuff during class. I am scared he will do something … he is crazy,” the note reportedly read.
Lemon previously faced charges of creating a public disturbance, disorderly conduct, and harassment. The charges were later dropped.
